From overprocessed faded pink strands to flowing brunette ~ this past year has been a wild, beautiful ride. I’ve always believed that hair holds memory, magic, and meaning. So when I set out to grow mine, I didn’t just want length ~ I wanted vitality, ritual, and a deeper connection to my body’s rhythms.

The photos above says it all: One year, countless batches of herbal infusions, and a whole lot of love.

✨ What Sparked the Journey?

I’d been craving a shift…not just in style, but in energy. My hair felt tired, brittle, and disconnected from the rest of me. So I turned inward and asked: What would it look like to nourish my hair like I nourish my spirit?

🌸 My Hair Growth Rituals

Here’s what I leaned into:

1. Homemade Herbal Hair Treatments

I crafted weekly masks and rinses using ingredients like:

• Rosemary – to stimulate the scalp

• Cloves – to stimulate the scalp

• Flaxseeds – to create a natural gel packed with omega-3s and slip

• Fenugreek seeds – for strengthening and reducing shedding

• Mint – to cool inflammation and awaken the scalp

2. Rosy Locks Shampoo

My own creation, born from a love of vintage apothecary vibes and potent herbal blends. Rosy Locks became my go-to for gentle cleansing and scalp support. It’s packed with:

• Rosemary – to stimulate follicles and encourage growth

• Cloves – for their spicy kick and scalp-invigorating properties

• Ginger – to boost circulation and awaken tired roots

• Mint – for a refreshing, cooling cleanse

• Cinnamon – to warm the scalp and add a cozy, aromatic depth

• Rose essential oil – for emotional uplift and a touch of floral elegance

I swear by it ~ not just because I made it, but because it works.

3. Prenatal Vitamins & Collagen

Internally, I supported my body with:

• Prenatals: Not just for pregnancy! They’re rich in biotin, iron, and folate—key players in hair health.

• Collagen peptides: I added them to my morning tea or smoothie. Over time, I noticed stronger strands and less shedding.

🪄 The Results

By August 2025, my hair had grown dramatically ~ not just in length, but in depth. It darkened naturally, which felt symbolic: a shift from airy lightness to grounded richness. I embraced the change wholeheartedly.

💌 Final Reflections

This wasn’t just a beauty experiment ~ it was a reclamation!! A way to honor my body, my creativity, and my connection to the earth. If you’re on your own hair journey, I hope this inspires you to infuse it with ritual, joy, and a little Rosy Locks magic 😉
